Our Octave 'Blues' Half-Caf Roast is all about capturing that soulful vibe of blues music. With deep, earthy flavors, it has the same emotional depth as a good blues tune. This roast keeps the rich, fruity essence of the beans, just like blues artists keep their roots while adding their own style. It’s got a lower caffeine kick, perfect for taking things slow and enjoying the moment. It’s a cup that speaks to the heart, one sip at a time.
Countries: Peru & Colombia
Process: 50% Washed Regular and 50% EA Decaf
Washed Coffee Process:
The process starts by carefully removing the outer layers of the coffee cherries to reveal the green beans inside. Next, they’re soaked, rinsed, and sun-dried before being hulled, sorted, and packaged with care, ready to be shipped off to the roaster.
Sugarcane Decaf Process:
In this process, coffee beans are soaked in water to draw out the caffeine. Then, ethyl acetate—a natural solvent found in fruits—is used to remove the caffeine. After that, the beans are separated, and the ethyl acetate evaporates, leaving the coffee’s flavor intact. For more details on this natural method, check out this link.
